The Mozilla Firefox Director Mr. Mike Beltzner announced last week that the Firefox has come up with a mechanism that prevents incompatible software from crashing down the browser. Yes, he was talking about the latest bug fixer that the Firefox released. It is second beta release of the Firefox 3.6 that fixes 190 bugs in the original release.

Consequently, all the current Firefox 3.6 beta users have already been issued an update about the improvements of interest to users along with the web and add-on developers. The Firefox 3.6 Beta is in the stage of pre-release software that indicates that the users might come across the compatibility problems with certain websites and add-ons.

Mr.Beltzner added that most add-ons are actually not upgraded by their authors and that is where one faces this compatibility problem.
Mr.Beltzner also added that the Firefox 3.6 beta has incorporated several new features for beta users to evaluate, including the way one can change the browser’s appearance with a single click. The user in fact, can have the built-in support to make themes or skins that are called Personas by Mozilla.

The videos can be viewed in full screen mode along with the poster frames (the image placeholders that are displayed in the browser window until the video starts playing). It also enables the user to use color gradients when using web-page designs based on Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) technology. One of the latest improvements in Firefox 3.6 beta is the more logical CSS gradient syntax than offered by the beta 1 release.

The second beta release of Firefox 3.6 in less than two weeks proves Mozilla’s efforts to get browser upgrades to the market more frequently. According to the Stat Counter reports, the Firefox has continued to maintain its second position globally in October, with a 31.8 % share of the browser market which marks as an improvement of 6.5 percentage points over the past one year. Although, the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is still ahead with 58 % market share, its overall browser market share has fallen by 10 percentage points in the past year, from the data available with the Dublin web-metrics firm.

Mozilla actually hopes that the Firefox 3.6 beta final release would act as a booster the way Firefox 3.5 did last year in July. According to the Stat Counter CEO Mr.Aodhan Cullen, Mozilla captured about more than 2% of the U.S. browser market in short span of time when the Firefox 3.5 was released.
