fennecOpen-Source browser Mozilla is all set to launch their mobile cousin very soon. The first mobile version is already in testing phase according to a trusted source within Mozilla. BBC has published the news saying that the launch is only ‘days away’. As there is no detailed official release it’ believed that Nokia’s N900 is all set to arrive with Fennec. The mobile browser will of course be open-source and will integrate with the desktop version.

Mobile browser war is set to heat up with the arrival of Mozilla’s Fennec (codename). With Googl’e Android, Windows Mobile, Opera Mobile (ported to Windows) and Apple turning the heat against each other, Mozilla’s entry is set to bring things to an interesting twist. Most mobile operating systems come with their own browsers-Android with Chrome, Windows with IE and Opera, Apple with Safari. It’ll be interesting to see how Fennec sneaks into mobile users phones.

Mozilla people are hoping to leverage the success of the desktop version in boosting the mobile browser’s popularity. With mobile apps market thriving with new applications everyday, Mozilla’s trusted add-ons can pose stiff challenge to the likes of Apple with close to 100,000 premium apps selling in their store.
