Where there is Apple, there is buzz and excitement. Even though Wall street is tuned in-to know Apple’s quarterly results when they get released on Monday, rest of the world is more interested in Islate- Apple’s tablet computer. It’s scheduled for release on Wenesday.
Tablet computer category has been deemed a failure so far. Apple must have been in research and development for some time now and it’s interesting as to why they thought a tablet computer is the best thing to launch when the whole world is going gaga over smartphones. And their own Iphone is doing pretty well.
“If Apple is going to design a product, then it’s going to be the best design in the marketplace,” said Broadpoint Amtech analyst Brian Marshall. “To bet that it’s going to be a flop is a bad bet.”
“There’s a huge potential long-term story there for Apple,” said Atlantic Equities analyst James Cordwell. “Whether they get it right the first time, we’ll have to wait and see, but they have a pretty good track record.”
Th edevice has been hyped as a do-everything gadget, which is a cross between a Macbook and Iphone. To put it simply it’ll be a touch screen tablet with smartphone and computing capabilities. If we look at this way, then this is not surprising it must have been long time coming.
