ipad1Apple CEO Steve jobs put all the speculation to rest on Wednesday when he unleashed the much anticipated and talked about Apple gadget- Ipad. Even though the tablet market has already proved to be a failure for a lot of big computer makers, Apple seems to have given the market a ray of rekindled hope. On first looks Ipad only seems like a Iphone for giants, it actually does everything an Iphone does but better.

For starters Ipad uses the same Iphone OS. It does not use the Mac’s OSx Snow Leopard. So this makes it Ipad a nearer cousin of Iphones rather than Macbooks. The most basic version with Wi-Fi but without 3G starts at $499. So that’s not too bad a price tag considering Apple’s existing pricing strategy.

It does everything an Ipod and Iphone can do collectively but on a larger 9.7 inch screen. You can access all your media, read ebooks and work on your documents just like a computer. Only slight drawback is that it can’t multitask. So, if you’re reading a book, you can’t listen to music online at the same time.
